EICR's & Why They're Important

EICR stands for Electrical Installation Condition Report. This is the testing of all fixed electrics and wiring to a premises for safety purposes. It involves investigation of all sockets, switches, consumer units and wiring.

This inspection needs to be carried out every 3-5 years (this will be specified on the paperwork) and is a legal requirement for any rental properties. Following a change in legislation in January 2020, it is now more important than ever to have this done and up to date.
